Feb. 27: Love Your Enemies.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“You have heard that it was said,
You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.
But I say to you, love your enemies,
and pray for those who persecute you,
that you may be children of your heavenly Father

Today, pray for anyone who you don't get along with. Pray for them by name. Pray for the person or people you really don't want to pray for. Pray that God would bless them and give them whatever they need.

Feb. 26: Forgive Someone Today

Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar,
and there recall that your brother
has anything against you,
leave your gift there at the altar,
go first and be reconciled with your brother

Think of someone who has hurt you, or someone who you no longer have a good relationship with because of something they did or said. Forgive them. If possible, talk to them or call them. If you can't speak with them, pray that God gives you the opportunity to speak with them soon. Even if you don't "feel" like forgiving them, saying it out loud is a huge step on the journey to forgiveness. This doesn't make everything okay, but it frees you and them from the bitterness and the grudge that you've been holding onto.

Feb. 25: Tell Him Your Needs.

Queen Esther, seized with mortal anguish,
had recourse to the LORD.
She lay prostrate upon the ground, together with her handmaids,
from morning until evening, and said:
“God of Abraham, God of Isaac, and God of Jacob, blessed are you.
Help me, who am alone and have no help but you

Take a few minutes today to offer your petitions to God. Tell him what you need, what you want. He knows what we need, and He loves when we ask Him. He's a loving Father who wants you to be happy, even more than you do!

Feb. 24: Tell Them.

Now Nineveh was an enormously large city;
it took three days to go through it.
Jonah began his journey through the city,
and had gone but a single day’s walk announcing,
“Forty days more and Nineveh shall be destroyed,”
when the people of Nineveh believed God;
they proclaimed a fast
and all of them, great and small, put on sackcloth.

Have you told your friends about Jesus? I don't mean all the facts about Him, I mean have you told them how your faith in Him has impacted your life? Often we are like Jonah and we think that people would never listen if we told them. Pray for an opportunity to share your faith today. And when that opportunity arises, GO FOR IT

Feb. 23: Read the Word.

So shall my word be
that goes forth from my mouth;
It shall not return to me void,
but shall do my will,
achieving the end for which I sent it.

Read God's word today. Open a Bible and read a passage from Scripture. The Gospels are a great place to start. Here are today's readings for Mass

Feb. 22: Who Is He?

When Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi
he asked his disciples,
“Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”
They replied, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah,
still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Who is Jesus to you? Really? Someone you turn to just when things are bad? Someone you ask to bring you things? Sure He's God, but who is He to you? Tell Him that you really want Him to be your everything.

Feb. 20: Leave Everything Behind.

Jesus saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the customs post.
He said to him, “Follow me.”
And leaving everything behind, he got up and followed him.

What would it mean for you to leave everything behind? Ask yourself which things in your life you couldn't live without. Tell God that He can have everything, even the things you hold onto dearly. Even if it feels like you're just saying it, ask Him to give you the faith to trust Him.

Feb. 19: Set the Oppressed Free

This, rather, is the fasting that I wish:
releasing those bound unjustly,
untying the thongs of the yoke;
Setting free the oppressed,
breaking every yoke;
Sharing your bread with the hungry,
sheltering the oppressed and the homeless;
Clothing the naked when you see them,
and not turning your back on your own.

Love someone that is oppressed today. Maybe the kid that no one talks to, sits with, or the one that everyone talks about behind their back. Offer a kind word, a friendly smile, or just go out of your way to let them know that someone cares.

Feb. 18: Deny yourself

Then he said to all,

“If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself
and take up his cross daily and follow me.
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.
What profit is there for one to gain the whole world
yet lose or forfeit himself?”

choose one way to deny yourself today. Maybe you will not have a snack at a meal, or not have that coffee/Coke that you're craving.

Feb. 17: Secret Suffering

But when you give alms,
do not let your left hand know what your right is doing,
so that your almsgiving may be secret.
And your Father who sees in secret will repay you

choose one small way to sacrifice to God today.
don't tell other people about your sacrifice. just do it.

(maybe you clean a mess someone else made, pick up trash, hold your tongue when someone insults you, do a chore that you don't have to do)
