April 3: The Silence of God

They took the body of Jesus
and bound it with burial cloths along with the spices,
according to the Jewish burial custom.
Now in the place where he had been crucified there was a garden,
and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had yet been buried.
So they laid Jesus there because of the Jewish preparation day;
for the tomb was close by.

MISS A MEAL TODAY. Take a few minutes in silence to reflect on the first Holy Saturday, the day after Jesus died. Imagine what it must've been like for the Apostles, who had just lost their closest friend. Imagine the questions, doubts, and fears that must've gone through their heads and hearts on that day. Ask God to prepare your heart for His resurrection. Thank Him for dying to rescue us from death

April 2: It is Finished

After this, aware that everything was now finished,
in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled,
Jesus said, “I thirst.”
There was a vessel filled with common wine.
So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop
and put it up to his mouth.
When Jesus had taken the wine, he said,
“It is finished.”
And bowing his head, he handed over the spirit.

Take 10 minutes to read over this Scripture passage and reflect on it. Ask Jesus to give you a glimpse of what He was going through just before He died. Imagine the scene in your mind. Thank Him for loving us all the way till the end. Thank Him for not giving up on us.

April 1: Washing Feet

So, during supper,

fully aware that the Father had put everything into his power

and that he had come from God and was returning to God,

he rose from supper and took off his outer garments.

He took a towel and tied it around his waist.

Then he poured water into a basin

and began to wash the disciples’ feet

and dry them with the towel around his waist.

Today, do a chore at home that you really don't want to do. Even if it's someone else's chore, choose to do it anyway. Tell God that you're thankful that He chose to humble Himself so much that He would wash His disciples' feet. Take a few minutes to think of the different ways that Jesus humbled Himself while on earth, and thank Him for each example you can think of
