But when you give alms,
do not let your left hand know what your right is doing,
so that your almsgiving may be secret.
And your Father who sees in secret will repay you
choose one small way to sacrifice to God today.
don't tell other people about your sacrifice. just do it.
(maybe you clean a mess someone else made, pick up trash, hold your tongue when someone insults you, do a chore that you don't have to do)

i didn't really understand what this reading meant when it talked about the hands but the homily yesterday helped me understand what it meant.
ReplyDeletewhen you said to do something without telling anyone what you did i did not correlate the two. but now i see exactly what that scripture meant.
